A New Platform for a New Era

Riding on an entirely new platform, the Ferrari Luce is equipped with four electric motors, enabling it to produce up to 1,050 horsepower. Ferrari states that the driving dynamics of the Luce are unlike anything previously offered by the brand. This new EV is a regular production model, intended to sit alongside the existing Ferrari lineup.

Collaborative Design Process

The styling of the Luce was a collaborative effort, involving Ferrari’s Centro Stile in Maranello and LoveFrom, the design firm founded by Jony Ive. While engineers focused on aerodynamic and functional needs, LoveFrom contributed to the overall aesthetic. The resulting design is a departure from traditional Ferrari proportions, emphasizing aerodynamic efficiency.

Aerodynamic and Striking Exterior

The Ferrari Luce measures 197.6 inches in length, 78.7 inches in width, and 60.6 inches in height, making it approximately 2.0 inches lower than the Purosangue. The vehicle achieves a drag coefficient of 0.254 cD, a figure realized without the use of active aero to maintain a lighter weight and cleaner visual design. The Luce features a black passenger cell with a teardrop-like shape, enveloped by aluminum bodywork. The hood and windshield seamlessly merge into a single surface. Even the windshield wipers have been redesigned and patented to create minimal air vortices. The Luce is fitted with the largest wheels ever seen on a production Ferrari, measuring 23 inches at the front and 24 inches at the rear. Round taillights complete the distinctive rear profile.

Luxurious and Functional Interior

Jony Ive's influence is particularly evident in the interior of the Luce. The cabin features premium aluminum finishes, intricate glass details, and advanced graphics and animations displayed on its screens. Despite being Ferrari's most comfort-focused car to date, the interior design prioritizes a refined user experience. A significant practical enhancement is the inclusion of five proper seats. The absence of a traditional transmission tunnel allows for a comfortable seating position for a fifth passenger in the rear. The Luce also offers a substantial trunk space for a Ferrari, measuring 21.1 cubic feet.

The Ferrari Luce represents a bold step into the future for the legendary manufacturer, blending cutting-edge electric performance with distinctive design and luxurious comfort.
