Gordon Murray's T.50s Niki Lauda Track Car Set for Goodwood Debut

Gordon Murray Automotive Unveils T.50s Niki Lauda Track Car
The first customer car of the Gordon Murray Automotive T.50s Niki Lauda is nearing completion and is set to be unveiled by Gordon Murray at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. This highly anticipated vehicle is a track-only supercar, representing a specialized evolution of the road-going T50.

A Tribute to Formula 1 History
The T.50s Niki Lauda pays homage to Gordon Murray’s first Formula 1 victory, which occurred at the 1974 South African Grand Prix. Chassis 1 of the T.50s Niki Lauda will be demonstrated by Gordon Murray himself, driving up the iconic hill at the Goodwood event.
Performance and Engineering Prowess
At the heart of the T.50s Niki Lauda lies a 3.9-liter Cosworth V12 engine, capable of producing a formidable 761 horsepower, revving up to an impressive 11,500 rpm. This powerplant is linked to a six-speed gearbox featuring paddle shifters. The design places the driver in a central position, and the car incorporates adjustable aerodynamics that can generate up to 2,645 pounds of downforce. The T.50s Niki Lauda is an evolution of the T50, designed to explore the limits of design and engineering philosophy.
Exclusive Production and Pricing
Gordon Murray Automotive is producing only 25 examples of the T.50s Niki Lauda, and all units have already been allocated to customers. The starting price for this exclusive track-only supercar is $3 million. Gordon Murray confirmed that the company is already building the T.50s, while other models like the T.33 and T.33 Spider are “well through development.”
Gordon Murray's Goodwood Showcase
Alongside the T.50s Niki Lauda, Gordon Murray will present three other significant vehicles at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. The event will mark the European reveal of the S1 LM design model. Additionally, the company’s Le Mans GTR XP1 prototype race car will be seen tackling the hill climb, offering a preview of the 24 production models planned. The fourth vehicle on display will be the T.33 Spider validation prototype, known as VP12. Gordon Murray Automotive is also developing a more “specialized range of vehicles” to further push the boundaries of their design and engineering capabilities.
Visual Highlights
The first customer T.50s Niki Lauda features a striking white body adorned with a South African flag-inspired livery. This distinctive design includes a prominent hood stripe and accent colors on the car's fins, celebrating its connection to the 1974 South African Grand Prix.
